Ultherapy Treatment

In Billings & Bozeman

Shiloh Medical Clinic was the first physician practice to offer Ulthera in Montana and Wyoming

Ultherapy is the only FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure that lifts the neck, chin and brow, and improves lines and wrinkles on the upper chest. Ultherapy goes deeper to stimulate production of your body’s own collagen and elastin, for natural-looking results without surgery or downtime.

Ulthera is ultrasound, and it works differently than conventional lasers. Laser treatments for skin wrinkles target the top layer of the skin, the epidermis, which is composed of collagen but not elastin. Traditional lasers target collagen, making the surface smoother but minor impact on overall skin tone.

Invasive and non-invasive treatments for skin tightening include deep burning lasers, radiofrequency and infrared light which target the second layer of skin, the dermis, remodeling collagen and elastin to improve tone of the skin but not improving the deeper connective tissue and muscle of the neck and face.
Focused ultrasound is the first non-invasive procedure targeting the deep connective tissue and muscles of the neck and face non-invasively. Prior to the FDA approval of Ulthera in 2009, your only option for tightening and toning the deeper layers of the face and neck was a surgical face/neck lift.

Focused ultrasound treatment, called Ultherapy, gives men and women the non-surgical option to treat ‘turkey neck’, jowls, face, brow, crow’s feet, upper eye lids.

Never before possible, not even with a scalpel, is the option to tighten and tone the muscles around the lips to treat the lip lines and chin tone. Patients LOVE this new option for lip lines as an alternative to fillers in the lip lines.

Dr. Reil is the first physician in Montana and Wyoming to offer Ulthera®, focused ultrasound treatment for face and neck laxity, the gentle non-invasive lift for men and women.

Ultherapy® uses microfocused ultrasound to generate a thermal effect under the skin. This effect essentially jump-starts your body’s own process to create fresh, new collagen.

The procedure takes about 90 minutes depending on which area(s) of the neck and face the patient elects for the procedure. A wand is placed on the area that very precisely directs micro-focused ultrasound waves to these deepest (collagen) connective tissue layers.

For some, the procedure can be mildly uncomfortable. The sensation is temporary — like a prickly, stinging sensation while the ultra sound is being delivered — but there is no lasting discomfort. Upon completion, most people can return to activities immediately with no visible sign of the procedure having been done. A small percentage may experience a slight, temporary redness for up to an hour after the procedure and some tingling or tenderness to the touch for a day or two.

  • Reduce fine lines
  • Tighten skin laxity in the cheeks
  • Tighten drooping and hooded eyelids
  • Eliminate forehead creases
  • Natural-Looking Results
  • Long-lasting improvement
  • No Downtime or Recovery Time
  • Reduction of Aging Effects

The majority of patients only need one treatment; however, some may benefit from more than one treatment, depending on how much skin laxity they have and their body’s own biological response to the ultrasound and the collagen-building process.

Just about anyone! Men and women who have mild-to-moderate face, brow, or neck sagging. These are the candidates that will see the most dramatic results. For those with severe sagging, it cannot replace cosmetic surgery but they too would see some improvement with Ulthera.

Ultherapy is a proven treatment with a well-established safety profile. It is currently marketed worldwide in more than 75 countries, with over 1.5 million treatments performed globally to date. In addition, ultrasound energy has a proven track record, with use in the field of medicine for more than 50 years.

Pricing for an Ultherapy treatment can vary, depending upon the areas being treated. Of course, the cost of Ultherapy can also vary based on geographic location and by physician practice. Treatment will be customized to meet each patient’s needs, and exact pricing can be discussed during consultation meetings.

There may be slight redness that typically resolves within a few hours following the treatment. Some patients may have slight swelling, tingling, or tenderness to the touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature.

“Keep it natural” is advice that I give my patients every day. My primary goal in aesthetic and laser medicine is to help men and women look better and younger…but still look natural. The latest non-invasive treatment option for laxity, Ulthera®, uses focused ultrasound to tone the muscles and deep connective tissue of the face and neck. Now patients have a safe and effective option to treat laxity without using Laser, Light, Botox or Fillers. Ulthera® gives a non-invasive gentle face ‘lift’ without any recovery time and with Ulthera® your natural face contours are preserved.

Ulthera works on skin laxity. The problem is laxity of the neck and facial connective tissue and muscle due to aging and loss of elasticity.
At age 25 we have our optimal tone in our skin, connective tissue and muscles with a high elastin content averaging 16%.

After age 25, we begin to age as we are genetically programmed to do. The body makes less quantity of elastin and the quality diminishes.
At 45 yrs., we have an average of 8% elastin and at 65 yrs. an average of 4% elastin content.”
