Meet the Bozeman Team
Julie Reil, MD, ABLS, ABFM
Julie Reil, MD, is a Montana native from Miles City, born and raised in a small farm and ranch community and a proud mother of two. The first decade of her career was spent delivering babies and practicing primary care medicine, obstetrics, and gynecology. The second decade has been spent researching and developing methods of pelvic floor toning and restoration, helping women through the use of non-surgical non-invasive technology to restore control and confidence.
Dr. Reil attended the University of Montana in vocal performance and graduated from the Honors College with a BS in Cellular Biology. At age 19, she sang her way to the Miss Montana title and was awarded the Dr. Allman Medical Scholarship while competing in the Miss America pageant. As a Montana WAMI student she earned her Medical Degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, and completed her training in family medicine and obstetrics at the Montana Family Medicine Residency/Saint Vincent’s Hospital/Billings Clinic in 2000.
After nearly a decade of practicing full time Family Medicine with Obstetrics, Dr. Reil became board certified in Laser Medicine to expand her Women’s Health practice and began offering cutting edge laser and aesthetic treatments. This is when she founded Shiloh Medical Clinic, and her passion for non-surgical pelvic floor toning began. She has spent the past 12 years working with non-surgical toning methods for the pelvic floor, and also for the brow, face, neck and body. Currently, her research team is preparing their second clinical paper for publication and application to NIH for RCT funding.
Dr. Reil has enjoyed being a leader in Aesthetics medicine. She was featured on The DOCTORS television show when the Genityte treatment launched. She has pioneered arm and thigh CoolSculpting® treatments and ranks in the top 1% of CoolSculpting® physicians. She developed Triple Tone Treatment for face, jowls, neck and neck cords. She has been ranked in the top 1% of Ulthera physicians and top 10% of Allergan physicians. Her passion in medical aesthetics is helping patients achieve a natural, younger look, without Botox and fillers, while implementing the highest standards of safety for primary care dermatology.
Many great lessons and great joy in life for Dr. Reil have come from being a single mother. Living and understanding the depth of love and sacrifice a parent makes have made her a better person and a more compassionate doctor. Her oldest son is a graphic design major at Montana State University Bozeman and her youngest daughter is a student at West High in Billings.
Dr. Reil’s love of our great state of Montana and the lifestyle it offers has been passed along to her kids. Her family enjoys time in nature, attending rodeos and PBR, hiking, skiing, hot yoga, horses and animals. As a family they all learned to ski at Moonlight Basin and Big Sky many years ago; it is their idea of paradise. They also love Chico Hot Springs and Yellowstone National Park.
Shaun J. Gillis, MD
Dr. Shaun Gillis was born and raised in Divide, Montana. She attended Montana State University and received a BS and MS in Microbiology. Dr. Gillis earned her Medical Degree from the University of Washington and then completed her training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital. She then moved back to Montana and has been practicing full spectrum ob/gyn in Bozeman since 2003.
Dr. Gillis is celebrating 30 years of marriage this year and her husband, Rick, has been a source of support throughout their marriage, cheering her education and then her medical practice. He has multiple graduate degrees including a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology and has worked in the biotech business, manufacturing, with the FDA, and now teaches at a local High School. The Drs. Gillis have three children, all born in different states! Ian was born in Seattle, Avery was born in Rochester, and Eric gets to tease his siblings that he’s the only real Montanan of all the kids. The two older children are young adults and the Montanan is a teenager.
As a native Montana girl, Dr. Gillis loves almost everything about this wonderful state, especially the outdoors. Bozeman has been home for so long, it’s been interesting to see all the changes that have taken place over the years. One of the best things about the state is most of her immediate family is within a day’s drive.
Dr. Gillis enjoys the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology and has done extra training in treating pelvic floor disorders such as prolapse, painful bladder syndrome, and urinary incontinence. She’ is also working on becoming certified in hormone optimization and bioidentical hormone therapy, which will be an exciting addition to her medical practice.
Outside of working, Dr. Gillis enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, hiking, skiing (both downhill and skate), and camping.
Debbie grew up in Minnesota, where she attended nursing school. After graduation she married and moved to Bozeman. She took her licensure test at the Capital building in Helena and was hired at the hospital in Bozeman soon after. She thoroughly enjoys all the teamwork, all the doctors, and of course, every last one of her patients. After working in all areas of the hospital, she joined a private OB-GYN office, and has been involved in women’s health ever since.
Debbie, also called Deb, loves living in Bozeman with her husband, Tom. They have two daughters who grew up in Bozeman, married, and moved to Oregon and Minnesota. She has three granddaughters. Her family enjoys nature, and loves the beauty of living in Bozeman. She has experienced Bozeman as a small town, watched it grow to medium size, and now to a larger city, but remain a beautiful place to live.
Other than her family, Debbie’s work is her passion. She sees patients, former patients, and co-workers everywhere she goes, stopping to talk, and to give each other hugs. She can’t think of any job more rewarding, and she feels very blessed.
Abby is a Registered Nurse, who graduated from nursing school in 2005, and moved to Bozeman a year later. She has dedicated her whole career to women’s health, focusing on labor and delivery, newborn care, and post-partum care. She loves being a nurse because she loves to help people, and finds personal joy in taking care of others.
She has three children. Embree is an 11 year old who has been dancing since she was two years old, and currently competes in all types of dance. Abby spends many weekends as a “Dance Mom.” Eight year old Max enjoys mixed martial arts, playing with friends and electronics. Declan is 6 years old and just likes to have fun. Abby also has two grown stepchildren, Hanna and Mason, who she loves to spend time with when they are in town. She also has two dogs, a cat, and some fish. She grew up in Georgia, where both of her parents and two other brothers reside.
Abby loves the “small town” feel of Bozeman because it is full of really good people who are always willing to help out when someone is in need. She also loves the weather in Bozeman. The summers are amazing, and she loves the winter snow. For her the more snow the better.
During the school year, Abby spends most of her time running her kids. The family likes to ski and go sledding. In the summer, they spend all of their free time camping at the lake, boating, surfing and swimming.
Front Desk and Marketing
Jade was born and raised in Billings, Montana and graduated from Billings West High. He now attends Montana State University Bozeman, with a focus in Graphic Design. His sister Jessica, four years younger, is now a student at Billings West. Jade calls his sister exemplary, bright and athletic. He is proud to be at MSU because it has an unparalleled graphics program that is much needed in the growing Bozeman community.
During his first semester in Bozeman, Jade quickly realized just how wonderful the community is. He believes there is an unspoken hospitality that is hard to find in most places. Bozeman is the boomtown of Montana right now, and Shiloh Medical Clinic at Gildhouse is proud to be a part of it. Because Jade has worked at the clinic in Billings and watched Shiloh Medical Clinic change so many people’s lives over the years, he feels it is an excellent addition to Bozeman’s growing community. There’s always an aura of charisma and positivity that patients experience when they come into the clinic, and it is all thanks to the SMC staff.
Jade’s favorite pastimes are skiing Big Sky and Bridger Bowl, but on the unfortunate days when there isn’t enough snow he loves to make graphic art and paint. Majoring in Graphic Design has given Jade the opportunity to meld his passion for creating illustrations with his passion for marketing and design.
